Emily Black is a Senior Associate in the Private Wealth team.

Emily advises clients on all aspects of estate and succession planning including trust establishment, relationship property agreements, preparation of wills and enduring powers of attorney.  Her experience includes assisting with the administration of estates comprising New Zealand assets where the will-maker is based off-shore.  She also has extensive knowledge of the Court processes associated with estate administration including applications for probate and letters of administration for New Zealand estates. 

She has assisted trustees in relationship property litigation, advised family members on Family Protection Act claims against their parents’ estates, and guided executors in navigating claims made against estates. Emily also regularly provides independent advice for other lawyers where conflicts have arisen.

With Emily’s pragmatic approach, clients can trust in her guidance for both estate planning and associated dispute resolution matters.
